Regional
The Danish government remains strongly committed to supporting peace and stability in the Middle East region; to promoting reform and progress – and to providing humanitarian assistance and relief when needed. Apart from providing fundings for various multilateral UN programmes and humanitarian/relief organizations working in the region, the Danish government coordinates and focusses its efforts within the frames of its policy on Middle East relations called Partnership for Progress and Reform launched in 2003, and in close cooperation with the EU and a number of other countries and NGOs.
The Danish policy concentrates its efforts within four key areas:
1. Building a bilateral partnership programme for and reform and progress
2. Developing an overall EU strategy
3. Promoting a charter for regional cooperation
4. Strengthening cooperation with NATO
