Fighting corruption is a subject of great interest to the Danish Embassy in Lebanon

Denmark is ranked as the least corrupt country in the world by an international survey published Tuesday by Transparency International. Danish Ambassador John Nielsen is happy about the Danish position: "In order to succeed, the fight against corruption needs constant and collective action from all key stakeholders at all levels within the public sector as well as from the business community and the media. Denmark is ranked as the least corrupt country in the world by an international survey published Tuesday by Transparency International. Danish Ambassador John Nielsen is happy about the Danish position: "In order to succeed, the fight against corruption needs constant and collective action from all key stakeholders at all levels within the public sector as well as from the business community and the media. Transparency and the fight against corruption are essential to achieve sustainable economic and social development Lebanon is entering a new era where the government have appointed a Minister of state for Combating Corruption and is calling for all parties to cooperate in a national campaign to eradicate the phenomenon.

According to the Lebanese Transparency Association, the situation is improving slowly but surely.  The LTA are fighting corruption, preparing awareness campaigns and advocacy. Lebanon is on the right path in fighting corruption

The transparency association are also witnessing a collaboration between them and the government, the private sector and civil society and that is a big step forward, more transparency, social accountability and freedom of speech.

The Danish Embassy in Lebanon in collaboration with Transparency international is working on an anti-corruption seminar for interested companies and Associations. More information will come later.
